What are ‘optical extras’?

If you have optical extras as part of your health fund this means you will be able to claim the cost of your prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses through your health insurer for low or no out-of-pocket expense.

What does ‘no gap’ mean, and is it something I can get at Oscar Wylee?

'No-gap' refers to not having to pay any out of pocket expense due to the health fund benefit covering the entire price of the eyewear.

Depending on your health fund and level of cover, more complex prescriptions and lens enhancements may result in an out of pocket ‘gap’ to pay.

Make the most out of your optical benefits

Most benefits from health funds will expire on December 31 and do not carry over into the new year. Your unused benefits are forfeited if left unclaimed at the end of the designated time period. These cycles are usually each calendar year or each financial year (or in some cases, from your join date).
